The New Balance 990v6 was first teased in mid-June 2021, but didn’t launch until November of last year. Since then, the latest offering in the NB 990 series has had a staggered release cycle, only dropping in classic grey and black outfits in addition to a collaboration by Action Bronson.
Recently, the FuelCell-cushioned design emerged in an all-new grey and navy color scheme that suggests the Boston-based brand will rev up its production. Breathable mesh and premium pig suede divvy up real estate across the upper, with the former material exclusively opting for a light grey tone. Panels along the sidewalls – including profile “N” logos – deviate in a deep blue hue that also appears on the top of the tongue.
Underfoot, the robust cushioning solution features a partly “aged” aesthetic that’s in line with several other Made In USA projects since Teddy Santis took over the program. Enjoy official photos of the New Balance shoes ahead, while you wait for a newbalance.com launch for $200 USD.
