“HUF and Nike Celebrate 20th Anniversary of Air Max 1 Collaboration with Summer Releases”
San Francisco-based HUF and Nike are commemorating the 20th anniversary of their collaborative Air Max 1 by launching three distinct colorways throughout the year. In addition to the original green iteration, Nike will unveil previously unreleased orange and pink versions to the public this summer.
Established by Keith Hufnagel in 2002, HUF quickly became a lifestyle and skateboarding hub in the Bay Area. It emerged as a prominent partner during Nike’s early collaboration era, characterized by scarce projects that were highly esteemed. Notably, HUF gained recognition for its tie-dye SB Dunk Highs in 2004, before applying its signature touch to the Air Max 1. The resulting design boasted a simple yet timeless colorway of Medium Grey and Green Apple, featuring unique materials.
Enhancing the allure of the HUF x Air Max 1 collaboration were the ultra-limited hyperstrike editions, distinguished by perforated suede toe-boxes and embroidered stitching on the heel depicting the San Francisco skyline. Additionally, unreleased versions in pink and orange are set to hit the shelves this summer, adding to the collection’s mystique.
