Following Kyrie Irving’s departure from Nike in 2022, his partnership with ANTA commenced in the summer of 2023, marking the beginning of a new era. Named the Chief Community Officer for the brand, Kyrie celebrated his role with an exciting eleven-day giveaway. Now, the highly anticipated release of his inaugural signature shoe, the ANTA KAI 1, is finally upon us.
Recently showcased on the court during the Dallas Mavericks’ visit to the Brooklyn Nets in February, the debut “Artist On Court” colorway features a sophisticated purple design accented with vibrant punches of pink, regal gold, and cream on the sole.
Despite the success of the Nike Kyrie line, Kyrie’s partnership with the brand ended on a slightly contentious note when he openly criticized his last shoe, the Nike Kyrie 8, on Instagram. Although images of the Kyrie 9 were revealed by Nike, they were ultimately scrapped. Transitioning to ANTA basketball, Kyrie now leads as the premier athlete, joining a roster that includes NBA stars such as Klay Thompson, Donte DiVincenzo, Gordon Hayward, and more.
