Midnight Studios’ Shane Gonzales Collaborates with Vault by Vans for “Star Spangled Glamour” Collection
Shane Gonzales, the designer behind Midnight Studios, has teamed up with Vault by Vans to release a limited “Star Spangled Glamour” capsule collection. This collection includes three classic Vans silhouettes: Old Skool VLT LX, Authentic Zip VLT LX, and Sk8-Hi Reissue Strap VLT LX.
The collaboration infuses a rock ‘n roll edge to the collection, drawing inspiration from cowboy boots and black leather jackets. Gonzales, who grew up skating in Vans, wanted to re-imagine the three Vans silhouettes that brought him back to his childhood and incorporate timeless all-American motifs into the designs.
Each Vans shoe features chrome, leather, and denim components, paying homage to the fashion that defined Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard. The shoes have understated color palettes but come with their own statement-making accoutrements.
The “Star Spangled Glamour” collection is a full circle moment for Gonzales, as he explains, “Collaborating with Vans is such a full circle moment for me… When I got the opportunity to create my own collection, I wanted to re-imagine the 3 Vans silhouettes that bring me back to my childhood.”
The Midnight Studios x Vault by Vans “Star Spangled Glamour” collection is set to release on April 29th at select Vault by Vans retailers.
