First worn by LeBron James himself in 2006 as a Player Exclusive, they are finally making their official general release in 2024, sparking a fourteen-year period of anticipation. The LeBron 4 will also be accompanied by a similarly themed pair of Nike Menace Cleats ($230).
Amidst ongoing discussions about LeBron James‘ future with the Los Angeles Lakers, “the kid from Akron” revisits the past with the rumored release of his Nike LeBron 4 “Fruity Pebbles” from 2006 during the holiday season.
Originally one of James’ many Player Exclusives (PE) from his earliest days in the NBA, the pair laid the groundwork for other playful themes across the forward’s signature sneaker line, with the LeBron 19 Low recently undergoing a makeover also inspired by the Fruity Pebbles cereal. Constructed from a “White”-colored Foamposite shell, the shoes’ uppers feature a curved midsole component with a series of patterns reminiscent of James’ favorite cereal. The inner lining follows suit, while the segmented tread underfoot indulges in the colors of the rainbow. One notable difference in the 2022 retro release may be the inclusion of official Fruity Pebbles branding, similar to that on the newer LeBron 19 Low.
